We are pleased to announce that the Intermountain Shooting Sports Education Conference is scheduled for August 25th, 2018 at the SLCC Miller Business Resource Center in Sandy, Utah. This is not “Yet Another Gun Show”.
Event Details
We are pleased to announce that the Intermountain Shooting Sports Education Conference is scheduled for August 25th, 2018 at the SLCC Miller Business Resource Center in Sandy, Utah.
This is not “Yet Another Gun Show”. There are plenty of events out there filling that need. We seek to build a stronger sense of community within the shooting sports and to ease barriers of entry. We are doing this by providing a forum for discussion and education on topics related and important to the community.
The conference will start with registration at 8 (including donuts) followed at 9 with a Keynote (Speaker TBD) followed by two Panel Discussions. The first panel will focus on Improving the perception of Shooting Sports in the Media. The second panel is still to be determined. Depending on panelists, the topic may be “The future of Gun Rights and the Shooting Sports in Utah”.
The panels will be followed by a light lunch, then a series of classroom based instruction on a variety of subjects including:
Gunsmithing
How to get started in various Shooting Sports
Hunting
Political Activism
Reloading
Training
And more…
Immediately after the classroom instruction, we will also be hosting a mixer event including snacks to allow the attendees to make connections with others who are passionate about the shooting sports, and to solidify existing relationships. We hope to help begin building a supportive, unified community of shooting sports enthusiasts. This education conference is our first step in that process.
