Over the years hundreds of phone calls and letters have been received at the Farr’s office inquiring about possibly purchasing a franchise, hoping to replicate the magic of the Farr’s original ice cream shop. Although Farr’s has resisted such requests historically, its recent successful efforts at franchising our authentic Hawaiian shave ice concept, Hokulia Shave Ice, has prompted company executives to organize efforts aimed at providing a franchised version of the company’s hallmark original ice cream shop. “Since we have been doing this for a while (close to 100 years), we’ve got a good idea of what works and doesn’t,” explained Michael Farr, company president. “I believe we should be very attractive to potential investors now that we have decided to franchise our scoop shop concept.
