We are done complaining & decided we would do something about it. Hence, this! Come party with us or sober up while waiting for cheaper Uber & Lyft rates. The noun “provocateur”, is borrowed from French and derives from Latin “provocare”, meaning “to call forth”.
Perhaps we use “provocateur” to describe one who incites another to action, instead of simply “provoker” because of “agent provocateur”, a French term literally meaning “provoking agent”. Both “agent provocateur” & “provocateur” refers to someone whose job is to incite or persuade people to act outside of the norm or against the law.
Although we would never suggest that anybody breaks the law, we most certainly created this nightlife venue in SLC thinking outside the box.
